CCGR collaborates with many local and national organizations. We have performed with the West Michigan Symphony, Embellish Hand Bell Choir, the Hildegarde Singers, and many more!
CCGR performs all kinds of choral music. We are known for premiering new pieces and supporting local composers. We strive to provide the highest quality music for our audiences.
CCGR is comprised of people who love to sing and are looking to raise their voices together. Not only that, but we are sharing our voices throughout West Michigan and making our community a little more musical.
Open Auditions will be held before February 1st. A formal link for signups will be added soon.
Here is what you can expect during your audition:
Singers should plan to sing something familiar, without accompaniment. It doesn't have to be long, or of any particular style. An appropriate length is one verse of a song. Know the starting pitch, or key. Singing something familiar allows Dr. Wallace to hear your voice at it's most comfortable (well, at least as comfortable as possible when you're the one auditioning!). Following this will be some short vocalises to determine range. Finally, there will be a short sight reading exercise. Chamber Choir members are expected to sight read fairly well.
All auditions/rehearsals are held at East Congregational Church
1005 Giddings SE Grand Rapids, MI.
The choir room is on the 2nd floor.
Member Dues: $75/ year (Scholarships available)
Members required to purchase concert attire
And if singing isn't your forte
